My Growing Passion
A blog: Some of it is purely informational about my gardening experiences, what I'm learning and how my garden's growing. I mix in a little personal information and humor occasionally. I use mostly my own photos, and will gather information from various sources. I hope in the future to interview some local experts and neighbors of my community garden plot.

Small Pigs for Your Hobby Farm
Heritage Hogs of New Zealand called KuneKune Pigs are a wonderful addition to your hobby farm. These little, colorful, and extremely gentle pigs are critically rare in the United States and in need of conservation. They are known to do well on grass alone and can be kept on pasture being easy on the environment and not prone to wander. While folks in New Zealand and the UK claim their meat to be "tasty", they are becoming popular in the U.S. for their ability to keep weeds down in orchards and vineyards as well as for their educational value being a very rare, traditional type breed. They are hardy, adaptable, and genetically diverse from the commercial breeds of today.
