Proven Winners Superbells Plum CalibrachoaColor Corner: Superbells® Plum Calibrachoa
Superbells® Calibrachoa are disease-tolerant, self-cleaning, and have a self-branching form and tiny, petunia-like blooms.  The flowers of Superbells® Plum are a light plum with dark-purple veining and a yellow throat. Calibrachoa is especially suited for containers because it prefers the soil that's a little on the dry side and doesn't need much fertilizer to bloom continuously.

Allen's Mailbox: White Flies
Question:  Allen, could you please tell me how to get rid of white flies.

Answer:  Whiteflies can be the most problematic in contained areas, like a greenhouse. You can see the evidence of their damage in the lack of vigor in a plant and the discoloration of its leaves. You can tell you have whiteflies by doing a simple test - just shake the foliage. If a cloud of white insects fly out, you've spotted the culprit. I recommend using an organic insecticidal soap. For it to work best, you'll need to soak the underside of the leaves and remember to soak it from top to bottom - the plant, that is - not just where the flies are visible. My second line of defense is to use sticky, yellow whitefly traps. The color yellow is attractive to whiteflies and other insects, so they're drawn to it, where they stick and eventually die. You should be able to pick them up at your local garden center, and they're easy to apply.

My husband was watching your show and I called interrupting his concentration. He said he wanted to know about the use of reused bricks for homes. I said I would try to locate the info. Can you email me some information about how reused bricks were cleaned, reused, etc. Thank you.
