To create this centerpiece I chose an antique bread bowl that is actually more like a wooden tray than a bowl. These were popular in the late 1800s to early 1900s.
- fall leaves
- candles in assorted heights, all in the same color family
- curly willow
- dried sumac
- small apples
- aluminum foil
- a low container or basket
Line the container with aluminum foil to protect it and your table from candle wax
Place the candles in the container staggering the heights.
Insert branches of curly willow between the candles. (available at craft stores and florists). You may have to use pruners to cut the willow to the desired lengths.
Add fall leaves, sumac and bittersweet until the arrangement looks full.
Now nestle the apples around the candles.
Before you light the candles be sure to adjust the stems and leaves away from the wicks to prevent them getting into the flame.
