Proven Winners® Basket of Blooms
- Flying Colors® Coral Diascia
- Supertunia® Royal Velvet Petunia
- Superbells® Yellow Chiffon Calibrachoa
- Illusion® Emerald Lace Sweet Potato Vine
Proven Winners® Nemesia Bluebird
This little Nemesia is not new. It's one called bluebird. It's been around a while, but it's worth mentioning because it's still one of the best you can grow. Although it can stand up to heat better than some, the quality that I rely on is frost-tolerance, so it's ideal for the early-spring garden. Bluebird has a snapdragon shaped, blue to purple flower that mixes beautifully with other cool-season favorites such as violas, ornamental kale, and pansies.
People and Places:
The Kate Gorrie Butterfly House in Pennington, NJ is a great place to learn about butterflies. Jeff Hoagland with the Stony Brook-Millstone Watershed Association tells us all about the spot and recommends some plants for attracting butterflies to the garden.
Shanna Clark with Fourstar Nursery in Michigan shows how easy it is to change colors with the seasons by planting in containers.
