July Giveaway – Laguna Ponds Urban Water Bowl

I know a certain someone named Linda in New Jersey who is enjoying the soothing sounds of a brand new water feature. Linda was the winner of the Laguna Ponds Giveaway, a contest hosted by myself and the folks over at Laguna last spring. The prize was a new water feature provided by Laguna Ponds and gardens designed by yours truly.

In June we invaded Linda’s home to disrupt her life and landscape for two days to put in the water feature and new plantings. As it turns out Linda and I had a lot to talk about. She’s a poultry fanatic and a floral designer, lives on a farm and spearheads the local farmer’s market. I was tickled to be able to add to the charm of her already fabulous home.

When it came to the design of the beds around the water feature I used a combination of Linda’s favorite plants along with a few of my picks and some edibles.

I have to say thanks to Gary and the staff of Twin Pond Garden Center and Country Market. They were amazingly helpful and the garden center is something to experience. They’ve got a deli and country market there so you can get a fresh-baked apple pie, locally grown produce and some good looking plants for your garden all in one place. Now that’s what I call a one-stop-shop!

Linda is a winner for getting a brand new water feature and flower beds, I’m a winner for getting to spend a few days with my friends at Laguna, and we want you to be a winner too. In the comments section below tell me how you would use a Laguna Ponds Urban Water Bowl for a chance to win one. I’ll select a winner at random on Wednesday July 31, 2013.

Congratulations to Suzanne Mullen! You are the winner of the Laguna Ponds Urban Water Bowl! Your comment was selected using Random.org. Check your email for next steps. Thank you to everyone who entered. More giveaways are coming so check back.

My passion is gardening and over the years I’ve created beautiful beds throughout my yard. A water feature is something I’ve dreamed of having for a long time. Having had total hip replacement in both hips, I can’t deal with anything very big. The Laguna Ponds Urban Water Bowl would be perfect and I’ve got just the spot for it!

I currently reside at my mom’s home in IN, she has spent several years working on her yard filling it with flowers and bird houses. It brings her lots of enjoyment and she loves P. Allen Smith.

  3. Lorissa Meyer says:

I am fairly new to gardening and I feel this would be a great way to start.

I have a sloped hillside backyard and would love to use it to have water running from the top to a pond at the bottom. Will need a heavy duty pump to get it back uphill. A nice stream going down with small waterfall drops would bring a great sound to my yard which would be located near my back deck.

I have a moderate sized deck. It is directly off my living room — in good weather it CAN be the living room . If I were fortunate enough to have this , I would situate it so that it could be seen thru the French doors when closed . When the doors are open it would really be a relaxing focal point . I would love to come home from work and have this oasis waiting !

  6. Carol Dodd says:

My elderly mother-in-law loves water features, but is unable to go any further than her back porch. I believe she would cherish the looks and sound of such a beautiful water bowl.

  7. Diane McCartt says:

We have a tiny backyard and would love to add a Laguna Ponds bowl. The size would be just right and we would really enjoy the sound of the water and watching the birds enjoy it also.

  8. Donna Thomson says:

    Oh little water bowl,
    come to me.
    For the sound of water
    brings tranquility.

  9. Mary Crumrine says:

Doesn’t everyone love the sound of water in the garden? Relieves stress and brings joy! Blessings, Mary

I know that my son and daughter-in-law would love to decorate their home with this water bowl. My son is currently working two jobs, one of which is in anticipation of a permanent job as a police officer. He has little time to garden, however they have managed to keep their yard and garden looking very nice. The garden feature would certainly perk up their garden and give them a much needed source of beauty and relaxation. I appreciate your expertise in the area of gardening and enjoy your television show and your website.
