I'm in Texas and about 2 weeks ago, I spotted a hummingbird visiting a lantana in my front yard. I immediately set out two feeders but never saw any hummers visit them. It's been weird because I always get a male hummingbird that takes possession of my feeders. This year the only one hummer I saw, just wanted my lantana. I've read that the hummingbirds pass on feeding information genetically to their offspring. The hummers you see in the fall are not the same ones you see in the spring. They are the offspring.

The rubies are really late this year, I thought they would be early with the warm weather we had in March. Our first hummer showed up April 30th in Tulsa. Love watching 'em
