P. Allen Smith

P. Allen Smith is an award-winning food, lifestyle and garden expert and host of three half-hour television programs focused on outdoor lifestyle and cooking. He is the author of the best-selling Garden Home series of books published by Clarkson Potter/Random House. Allen comes from a long line of Southern farmers and continues this heritage on his 1840s farmstead overlooking the Arkansas River Valley.

David Anderson

Minimizing carbon footprints and designing with an awareness of impact and embodied energy are the cornerstones of David Anderson's design process. After getting a degree in Architecture & Urban Planning, David works as a consultant/designer/project manager for güsdesigncoop & also chairs the Built Environment & Land Use Committee with LRSC & the Fourche Creek Cleanup Initiative. He also is a part of the Habitat Trails infill housing project in Rogers, Arkansas.

Paul Page

After spending 28 years as a rice and soybean farmer in eastern Arkansas, Wilson's strong interest in pragmatic solutions and appreciation of modern design led to the creation of an urbanism, environmentally-friendly home design trend that connects the old with the new.

Tony Drinkwater

Tony Drinkwater has been in the business of building and remodeling homes since he was 16. In 1987 he expanded his focus to commercial jobs such as hospitals, hotels and churches. Tony has worked with Allen for over 5 years at the Garden Home Retreat on various projects including the new rose garden and now the Next Generation Garden Home.

Chris Smith

Chris Smith is Allen's youngest brother. After working as an electrician he joined Allen at the family business, Birnamwood Nurseries. When the business sold 8 years ago, Allen asked Chris to be his farm manager. On any given day you'll find Chris ordering and picking up feed, planning and executing road development, building animal shelters, solving drainage issues, predator control, landscaping, installation of gardens and everything else!

Joyce Smith

Joyce Smith is the Event Coordinator at Moss Mountain Farm and Chris' wife. She has a BSBA & MBA from the U of A at Fayetteville and she needs it to handle the goings on at the farm. Her main task is making sure events run smoothly but she's also in charge of preserving veggies and jams, mowing, plumbing, poultry genetics (hatching all the breeds and doing experiments with Allen's guidance), house maintenance, and operation of the on-site gift shop. Joyce has two children – Jacob, 16 & Laura, 13.

Angel Smith

Angel is Joyce & Chris' "JackRat." She is the baby of Sugar, a Rat Terrier & Buddy, a Jack Russell & Rat Terrier. Her duties at the farm include searching out and destroying rats' nests, keeping the mole population under control, chasing away coyotes, guarding the chickens and napping in the sunshine. She also oversees construction of the new Garden Home that she’ll live in with Joyce & Chris.
