Answer

Knock Out Roses are Easy

Question

Allen, I love roses, but I've always had a hard time growing them. Can you please recommend a variety that won't drive me crazy? And by the way, I love the color pink.

Answer

Well, Tessa, you are in luck. The Knock Out® Family of Roses has 3 pink varieties that I recommend you try – The Pink Knock Out® Rose, The Pink Double Knock Out® Rose and The Blush Knock Out® Rose. All 3 have the same carefree characteristics.

Roses in the Knock Out® Family are cold tolerant to zone 5, heat tolerant throughout the U.S., reliably resistant to disease and produce a bevy of blooms every 5 to 6 weeks from spring until the first hard frost.

  • The Knock Out® Family of Roses performs best when planted in full sun.
  • The soil should be well drained and fertile.
  • Plant the roses 4 feet apart to allow for room to grow and good air circulation.
  • Feed every bloom cycle with a fertilizer blended specifically for roses.

Will Roses do good in very bad clay ground?

I love this piece of music! It is so calming and just right for all those who love gardens. It actually describes my 94 year old mom who still likes to get out and work around in her garden! Thank you for giving us this lovely piece (peace) of music on each show.
