P. ALLEN SMITH HOSTS CHUCK LEAVELL MUSICIAN, CONSERVATIONIST AND AUTHOR OF CHILDREN’S BOOKS
(Feb. 24, 2008, Little Rock, AR) On Wednesday, March 12, celebrity outdoor living designer P. Allen Smith welcomes Chuck Leavell to the Garden Home Retreat, Allen's new state-of-the-art eco-friendly home and garden situated on a breath-taking riverfront location near Roland, Arkansas. Leavell is known to music lovers as keyboardist for the Rolling Stones and other high profile rock and roll bands, but more recently has been making a name for himself as a dedicated tree conservationist and author of books for children such as The Tree Farmer. Allen has invited Leavell to join him along with Little Rock elementary students from Trinity Cathedral and Access Schools for a tour of the farm’s woodlands, gardens, and to enjoy a special performance and book reading by Chuck.
According to Smith, "I'm delighted to host Chuck at the Garden Home Retreat. I know the students will be excited to meet him and learn about his leadership in forestry conservation. It's a great opportunity for them to spend time with someone who is has traveled the world with legendary rock bands but stays grounded in his life by growing and protecting trees."
The day is made possible through the generous support of local anonymous donors, the Stella Boyle Smith Trust, Ferry-Morse Seed Company and STIHL Inc.
