Father's Day Contest Rules

By entering and participating in the www.PAllenSmith.com Father's Day Contest, you agree to the Official Rules of the contest and the posting etiquette guidelines. You also understand that your entry, image and all personal information provided by you may be shared with the sponsor(s) of this contest.

How to Enter:

Beginning 12:01 pm, Central Standard Time ("CST") on Friday, May 21, 2010 until 11:59 p.m. CST on Thursday, June 3, 2010, ("Contest Submission Period"), any registered member of the www.PAllenSmith.com online community may submit a picture of your garden or a favorite outdoor setting at your home. Next, share your favorite saying from your father or from a man who played a significant role in your life—and tell us why those words have stayed with you over the years—for the www.PAllenSmith.com “Father's Day Contest” (the "Contest") by visiting the P. Allen Smith website, www.PAllenSmith.com. The entrant must be male but does not have to be a father to win; brothers, uncles, best friends, neighbors, sons and even you are eligible. Please limit your text entry to 100 words of less. Entries are limited to one per household or e-mail address.

How to Vote:

Registered member of the www.PAllenSmith.com online community may vote during the voting period, starting at 12:01 pm, CST, on Friday, June 4, 2010 and ending at 11:59 pm, CST, on Tuesday, June 15, 2010 (Contest Voting Period). Visitors can vote for as many submissions as they like per day but only one vote per submission per 24 hour period. Votes generated by script, macro or other automated means are void. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. All entries become the property of Sponsor(s) and will not be returned.

Eligibility:

This contest is open to legal U.S. and Canadian citizens (void in Quebec Province and Puerto Rico) 18 years of age or older by Friday, May 21, 2010, who are registered members of the www.PAllenSmith.com online community. Employees, officers and contractors (including immediate family members and members of the same household) of the Sponsors, their affiliated companies, subsidiaries, distributors, dealers, retailers, vendors, advertising and promotion agencies, and any and all other companies associated with this contest are not eligible to participate. Contest void where restricted or prohibited by law.

By participating in this contest you hereby agree that you have been granted permission to use the image and likeness of the garden or outdoor space you are submitting. Furthermore you agree that the saying you have submitted is original and unique to the individual who said it and has not been previously published.

Notification:

Registered member of the www.PAllenSmith.com online community will vote during the Contest Voting Period from the list of posted images and quotes. Once voting has closed, the top three entrants receiving the most votes will be declared the winners. These three winners will be notified by phone and/or e-mail. Prize packages will be shipped once a completed Release of Liability form and Contest Participant Release Form has been returned along with any required proof of eligibility. Shipping method to be at the sole discretion of the sponsor.

Potential Winners will be required to sign a Release of Liability and, unless prohibited by law, a Contest Participant Release Form and return same, fully-executed, within ten (10) days of date of issuance of prize notification. If Sponsor is unable to contact the potential Winner, if the potential Winner fails to return all forms fully-executed by the specified date or if potential Winner fails to comply with these Official Rules, or if any prize or prize notification is returned as undeliverable, such potential Winner will be disqualified and, at Sponsor's discretion, an alternate Winner shall be selected. By accepting the prize, Winner consents to the use by Sponsor and its designees of his/her name, screen name, city and state of residence, in any and all media now or hereafter known, including online announcements, throughout the world in perpetuity, without additional compensation, notification or permission, except where prohibited by law.

Contest winners from previous www.PAllenSmith.com contests within the past 12 months are not eligible to enter this contest but are more than welcome to vote for a winner.

Date of Award & Prize Package:

Prizes will be awarded on or about Friday, June 18, 2010. Certificates for the prize packages will be mailed to the winners by an express courier service. Winners will then contact their local STIHL dealer to redeem their certificate. If desired, winner can substitute other STIHL equipment within the prize value. All applicable taxes are the responsibility of the winners. Certificate cannot be redeemed for cash or for merchandise not manufactured by STIHL.

Entries that are out of focus, blurred, unclear or unreadable images or postings that are illegible, late, miss-posted or corrupt will not be posted and considered void. Please no obscene or offensive content. Submitted text must be an original work product of the Entrant. All entries must meet contest criteria and will be approved before posting to the contest website. In the case of a tie, the first place winner will be chosen at random from the top vote getting entries. All rulings by the judges are final.
