Annual Herb. Distinctive ruffled purple foliage. Good for herb vinegar, as a garnish, or fresh/dried in soups and sauces. Some plants may have green leaves.
Start seed indoors near a sunny window 6 weeks before transplanting to the garden. Or, sow in garden in full sun when frost danger is over and ground is warm. Performs best in rows 2 feet apart. Thin plants to 18 inches apart when they are 2 inches tall. Use leaves fresh or dry for seasoning. Great for a dramatic background.
