Broiled Shrimp Wrapped in Bacon

This is one of those appetizers that will turn even the most disciplined diners into a glutton. And these are really easy to make so have plenty of ingredients on hand to whip up another batch when the platter is empty. Just wrap a few shrimp with bacon, sprinkle with sugar, salt and pepper and then broil them for a few minutes in the oven.

24 large, raw shrimp, peeled and deveined
6 pieces of bacon(Turkey bacon works too.)
1 tablespoon sugar
1/4 teaspoon red pepper flakes

Cut each piece of bacon in half and then cut the halves lengthwise.

Wrap each shrimp with a piece of raw bacon. Skewer with a toothpick to hold the bacon in place.

Place the prepared shrimp in a large bowl, gently toss with sugar and red pepper flakes.

Transfer the shrimp to a foil lined baking sheet.

Broil for about 5 minutes on each side.
