At Rose's Department Store I get a 46-oz bottle of lemon cleaner (soap) for $1. I have been using this on my plants for years now and have never had any trouble. It even kills the nymphs that grow to be those awful giant hoppers (locusts). Similar products are available at the dollar stores, but cost a little more. I have also used orange cleaner, however, I like lemon cleaner better.

How about a recipe for homemade insecticidal soap?

I'm wondering whether there is a way to make your own insecticidal soap, using common household ingredients, instead of the expense of buying store products.

I appreciated this very much. I cannot garden, plant, care for flowers anymore to my regret. I love them and miss so very much the ability to plant and watch. I do so enjoy your TV program since it makes me think I can still plant, weed, etc. I can maintain a pot or two on the back porch but they aren't pretty like yours.
