Raspberries are best eaten immediately, but they will keep in the refrigerator for a few days. Spread unwashed berries out in a single layer in a shallow dish lined with paper towels, loosely cover and place them in the fridge. You can also freeze raspberries and they will be good for a year.

Last week we spent a day at the Middlesex County Cooperative Extension to tape at its EARTH Center, which includes a vegetable garden, a herb garden, arboretum and native plant and wildflower displays. The extension is trialing new strawberry cultivars with improved yields, disease resistance and taste.
Also during our trip to the Northeast we taped with personal chef and food blogger Amie Valpone. She demonstrated how to make spinach guacamole. Check out her gluten-free recipes on her blog TheHealthyApple.com.
