Tomato Harvest

Earlier this summer I planted a variety of tomatoes both at the Garden Home Retreat and in the small vegetable garden at my house.  Now the work is paying off with an abundance of juicy tomatoes.  I planted slicing, paste and cherry tomatoes so that I’d have a one to suit every meal.

To make the most of the limited space at home I planted patio and determinate tomatoes, but out at the Garden Home Retreat I was able to grow some of the larger, indeterminate varieties. 

Good to Know

Determinate tomatoes plants max out at a specified size. They tend to be compact growers, but only produce one crop of tomatoes.

Indeterminate tomato plants will sprawl, but produce continuous waves of tomatoes throughout the growing season.
