Whitehall Gardens

The centerpiece of Louisville, Kentucky’s Whitehall may be the Greek Revival mansion, but it's the gardens that make this historic estate a complete setting. Winding paths and stepping stones guide visitors around ten acres of land featuring both formal garden rooms and woodland.

Whitehall is part of Kentucky's Historic Homes Foundation so it is open for tours. I visited in October just as the leaves were turning, but a trip scheduled in spring would allow you to see the collection of over 50 peonies in bloom or go in September when they have their annual plant sale.
