Steps for Planting Herbs in Containers
Fill your container with soil to about 6 inches below the top.
Bonnie Plants herbs come in a biodegradable pot so all you have to do is remove the plastic wrapper, tear off the bottom and plant.
Fill the pot in with more soil, leaving about 1 inch of space between the soil and the top of the pot so you can water.
Place pots in a spot that receives at least 6 hours of sun a day, water and you are done!
Tips for Harvesting Rosemary, Oregano and Thyme
Rosemary – Cut rosemary stems at any time. The blooms are edible too.
Oregano – Harvest leaves by pinching stems anytime the plant is at least 6 inches in diameter or big enough to spare a few. The more you cut, the more it branches and grows. Snip stems just above the lowest set of leaves to promote branching from the base. The flavor of oregano is best right before it sets flowers in mid summer. Leaves taste stronger dried than fresh.
Thyme – Snip sprigs of thyme as needed. Remove the leaves from the stems before using. The flavor is strongest just before the flowers open.
