It’s a known fact that you can’t feed the growing world population without farmers. But there are many questions being asked today about who will actually be able to take on the job a few decades from now.
As many of you know, the preservation of heritage poultry breeds is something that I’m passionate about. The space at the Garden Home Retreat affords me the luxury of being able to take an active part in this effort. In today’s show we talk about the essential knowledge equipment you need to start your own backyard flock.
Have you ever wished you could step back in time and have a conversation with someone from the past?... Perhaps family… an old friend… or maybe even someone who just inspires you.
Thanks to the Colonial Williamsburg Foundation in Virginia I get the chance to do just that. In today’s show I get to sit down and have a conversation with not one, but two, of the most famous gentleman planters of all time! Plus, a special visit from the original First Lady herself… and her role during the Revolutionary War.
Exploring Colonial Williamsburg, Virginia and talking to the people who are doing their part in preserving the town’s history. We’ll discuss current restoration projects and how archeology is used for reconstruction. Also, explore the Dewitt Wallace Decorative Arts Museum and it’s extensive collection of American and British antiques. We’ll finish the show off with an amazing spoonbread recipe straight from the 18th century.

In today’s show I would like to highlight a few programs that are adding the joys and educational components of gardening to the classroom experience.
This is the time of year where I know a lot of people do a little "Spring cleaning" or "sprucing up." Especially those of you who may be in the market for a new home this summer and are preparing to sell the home you currently have. This show tells you how to add value to your home and how to focus on the most important elements.
